Health Sciences Historical Collections at UTHSC provides reference and research access to its materials. Materials do not circulate and are not available through interlibrary loan. Photocopying is allowed on a case-by-case basis,depending on the condition of the materials. Digital copies of materials can be requested,for a fee.

Holdings:

Health Sciences Historical Collections at UTHSC holdings include more than 3000 volumes of rare books, including a number of medical classics from the 16th-18th centuries. HSHC also includes more than 400 linear feet of manuscript collections, more than 700 medical artifacts, and 20+ historic journals covering health sciences in Memphis, Tennessee, and the Mid-South region. A card collection of biographical information on more than 20,000 Tennessee physicians is a valuable resource for genealogists.
