Abstract:

The Institute of Humanities in Medicine (IHM) was founded in 1989 as the University Institute for the History of Medicine and Public Health (IUHMSP) and is part of Lausanne University Hospital. Its library and special collection followed right after and opened their doors to the public in 1990. Today, with total holdings of almost 60’000 catalogued titles and medical heritage objects, the library is the reference centre for research and studies in its subject area.
