Abstract:

The Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library houses approximately 15,000 items in the history of medicine. These materials are for use in the library only. Limited photocopying is permitted. The library's particular strengths are in the history of anatomy, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, dentistry, and psychoanalysis.

Holdings:

The Library holds approximately 15,000 items. About 10 incunables, many 16th century volumes, but no precise figures are available. Some manuscript material, including a number of Florence Nightingale's letters. Small collection of medical caricature prints.
